Blunn Dam Information

Blunn Dam is an earthen embankment dam located in Arvada, Jefferson, Colorado.

The dam, which is on the Ralston Creek River, was primarily built for Water Supply purposes, but also serves for Recreation benefits.

The dam was designed by ECI, INC and commissioned in 1979 and is currently owned by CITY OF ARVADA (ESSERT, WENDY).

Blunn Dam Structure

The Blunn Dam is approximately 4,180 feet (1,274 m) long, 68 feet (21 m) high and has a structural volume of 58,000 cubic yards (44,344 cubic metres).

Blunn Dam Storage Capacity & Surface Area

The reservoir has a normal storage capacity of 6,361 acre-ft (7,846 Ml) and maximum capacity of 7,839 acre-ft (9,669 Ml).

The surface area of the reservoir is 198 acres (80 ha) and the total catchment area is 49 square miles (127 square kilometres).
