Florence Retarding Dam is an earthen embankment dam located in Florence, Pinal, Arizona.

The dam, which is on the Gila River – Tr, was primarily built for Flood Risk Reduction purposes, but also serves for benefits.

The dam was designed by USDA NRCS and commissioned in 1965 and is currently owned by ARIZONA STATE LAND DEPARTMENT;FLORENCE AREA WATERSHED FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT.
