Dequeen Dam Information

Dequeen Dam is a rockfill earth dam located in Dequeen, Sevier, Arkansas.

The dam, which is on the Rolling Fork River, was primarily built for Flood Risk Reduction purposes, but also serves for Recreation and Water Supply benefits.

The dam was designed by CESWT and commissioned in 1977 and is currently owned by USACE – Little Rock District.

The Dequeen Dam is approximately 2,360 feet (719 m) long, 160 feet (49 m) high and has a structural volume of 2,602,300 cubic yards (1,989,601 cubic metres).

Dequeen Dam Storage Capacity & Surface Area

The reservoir has a normal storage capacity of 34,900 acre-ft (43,048 Ml) and maximum capacity of 370,600 acre-ft (457,128 Ml).

The surface area of the reservoir is 1,700 acres (688 ha) and the total catchment area is 169 square miles (438 square kilometres).

Dequeen Dam Spillway

The dam has a 200 feet (61 m) wide uncontrolled spillway with a maximum discharge capacity of 17500 cubic feet per second (496 cubic metres per second).
