Nacimiento Dam Information

Nacimiento Dam is an earthen embankment dam located about 16 miles from Bradley, San Luis Obispo, California.

The dam, which is on the Nacimiento River, was primarily built for Hydroelectric purposes, but also serves for Irrigation, Recreation, Water Supply and Flood Risk Reduction benefits.

The dam was designed by and commissioned in 1956 and is currently owned by Monterey County Water Resources Agency.
