Piney Run Dam is an earthen embankment dam located about 1 miles from Springfield Hospital Center, Carroll, Maryland.

The dam, which is on the Piney Run River, was primarily built for Flood Risk Reduction purposes, but also serves for Recreation and Water Supply benefits.

The dam was designed by RUMMEL,KLEPPER+KAHL;USDA NRCS;USDA SCS/Rummel, Klepper&Kahl and commissioned in 1974 and is currently owned by Carroll Co Recreation and Parks.
