St Marys River Watershed Site 1 Dam is an earthen embankment dam located about 3 miles from Great Mills, St. Mary’s, Maryland.
The dam, which is on the Western Br, St. Marys River, was primarily built for Flood Risk Reduction purposes, but also serves for Recreation benefits.
The dam was designed by ALLAN STAHL;USDA NRCS;USDA SCS-Allan Stahl and commissioned in 1975 and is currently owned by MD DNR-Public Lands, Engineering & Constr-Southern.
