East Brimfield Dam Information

East Brimfield Dam is a rockfill earth gravity dam located in Sturbridge, Worcester, Massachusetts.

The dam, which is on the Quinebaug River, was primarily built for Flood Risk Reduction purposes, but also serves for Recreation benefits.

The dam was designed by CENAE and commissioned in 1960 and is currently owned by USACE – New England District.

East Brimfield Dam Structure

The East Brimfield Dam is approximately 520 feet (158 m) long, 53 feet (16 m) high and has a structural volume of 119,600 cubic yards (91,441 cubic metres).

East Brimfield Dam Storage Capacity & Surface Area

The reservoir has a normal storage capacity of 1,200 acre-ft (1,480 Ml) and maximum capacity of 71,000 acre-ft (87,577 Ml).
