The dam, which is on the Wolf Run River, was primarily built for Flood Risk Reduction purposes, but also serves for Recreation benefits.
The dam was designed by ODNR, OFFICE OF CHIEF ENGINEER;USDA NRCS and commissioned in 1966 and is currently owned by ODNR, Division of Parks & Watercraft.
