The dam, which is on the Hubbard Creek River, was primarily built for Water Supply purposes, but also serves for benefits.

The dam was designed by FREESE AND NICHOLS AND ENDRESS;FREESE AND NICHOLS AND ENDRESS and commissioned in 1962 and is currently owned by WEST CENTRAL TEXAS MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT.
