The dam, which is on the Village Creek River, was primarily built for Water Supply purposes, but also serves for Recreation benefits.

The dam was designed by FREESE AND NICHOLS;freese and nichols and commissioned in 1957 and is currently owned by CITY OF ARLINGTON.
