Lake Athens Dam is an earthen embankment dam located about 7.7 miles from Athens, Henderson, Texas.

The dam, which is on the Flat Creek River, was primarily built for Water Supply purposes, but also serves for Recreation benefits.

The dam was designed by VELVIN & WEEKS;VELVIN & WEEKS;VELVIN & WEEKS and commissioned in 1963 and is currently owned by ATHENS MUNICIPAL WATER AUTHORITY.
