Natural Dam Information

Natural Dam is an earthen embankment dam located about 6 miles from Big Spring, Howard, Texas.

The dam, which is on the Sulphur Springs Draw Of Beals Creek River, was primarily built for Flood Risk Reduction purposes, but also serves for Fire Protection, Stock and Or Small Fish Pond benefits.

The dam was designed by FREESE AND NICHOLS;FREESE AND NICHOLS;FREESE AND NICHOLS and commissioned in 1940 and is currently owned by COLORADO RIVER MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT.
