Wright Patman Dam Information

Wright Patman Dam is an earthen embankment dam located in Texarkana, Bowie, Texas.

The dam, which is on the Sulphur River, was primarily built for flood risk reduction purposes, but also serves for Fish and Wildlife Pond, Recreation and Water Supply benefits.

The dam was designed by CESWF and commissioned in 1954 and is currently owned by USACE – Fort Worth District.
