Keechelus Dam Information
Keechelus Dam is an earthen embankment dam located about 10 miles from Easton, Kittitas, Washington.
The dam, which is on the Yakima River, was primarily built for Flood Risk Reduction purposes, but also serves for Irrigation and Recreation benefits.
The dam was designed by DOI WPRS and commissioned in 1917 and is currently owned by US Bureau of Reclamation.

The reservoir has a normal storage capacity of 158,000 acre-ft (194,890 Ml) and maximum capacity of 171,000 acre-ft (210,925 Ml).
The surface area of the reservoir is 2,562 acres (1,037 ha) and the total catchment area is 55 square miles (142 square kilometres).
